Frequently Asked Questions

It comes down to our proprietary chemistry, specialized equipment and unique process. Instead of bringing your cabinets to a paint shop, we’ve developed a way to successfully mask and paint all surfaces right in your kitchen! We’ve also formulated our coatings to ensure quick and efficient indoor dry time. No more having to deal with not having a kitchen for days or even weeks!
This depends on many variables. The main ones are the number of cabinets, shelves and drawers. Other variables that drastically affect price are whether or not we’re spraying the interior shelving of your kitchen (most are white and remain white) and if your cabinets are full wood (such as oak), which requires a different preparation. The average cost for a project is around $3750. Since we don’t transport your cabinets to and from a paint shop, on average we’re slightly less expensive than the companies who do. When it comes to replacing and installing new kitchen cabinets, we’re around 65% less than the cost of replacement. To get a ballpark quote for your kitchen, please contact us.
Yes, we can match any colour in any gloss (although we always suggest our standard gloss to minimize the appearance of any imperfections), but a $250 formulation fee applies. Unlike off-the-shelf latex paints, we don’t simply add pigments to a standard paint base. Our paint formulators engineer each colour independently and balance the pigment-to-resin ratio to ensure maximum durability.
Your kitchen will look like-new, but it’s important to understand that your kitchen will not be new. If your kitchen isn’t in great condition and won’t allow for a beautiful, long-lasting finish, we’ll suggest replacing it. In most cases, kitchens cabinets are just dated and have minor chips and scratches. We’ll repair all minor and major chipping with a high-performance wood filler. We also apply a high-build primer and sand it before applying our top coat to minimize the appearance of those chips and scratches; but upon a close inspection, it’s possible that you might still see some minimal imperfections. Even with a new kitchen, some wear and tear is entirely normal.
Our top coat exceeds all Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers’ Association (KCMA) standards. These standards include the ability for the coating to withstand extreme heat as well as vinegar, lemon, orange and grape juices, tomato ketchup, coffee, olive oil, and 100-proof alcohol for 24 hours and mustard for one hour.
Yes. All of our franchise partners have $2 million + liability insurance.
We offer a 15-year no-peel warranty with only a few exclusions due to the nature of cabinet materials and usage. Although our coating cures to a very hard finish, just like the paint on a car, it can be chipped and scratched, and we cannot warranty against this. If you happen to scratch or chip your cabinets, we’ll provide you with a touch-up bottle just in case! If requested, we can refinish the cabinet at a charge. Wood damage that can cause paint to peel is out of our control, since the same would also happen with brand-new cabinets. Proper air flow will avoid this from happening. Under normal conditions, our coating will last as long, if not longer, as any coating on brand-new kitchen cabinets. Usage, environment and care will be the biggest determinants of the effects of “wear and tear”.
Unfortunately, we only apply solid colours.
If we are painting the inside of your cabinets, you’ll have to remove all your kitchenware and dishware. Once you let our team into your kitchen, we’ll need you to provide us with access to electricity. Although we’ll use a preparation solution to clean the kitchen, we ask that you clean it before we come.
As soon as we leave, our paints will be dry to the touch. We use infrared lamps to accelerate the curing of our coatings, so you can safely touch them within hours of application. Full hardness and adhesion, however, only occur once the paint is fully cured. Surface and temperature dependent, this can sometimes take up to thirty (30) days, leaving your paint film slightly more fragile during this curing period. As such, it’s important that you handle the coated surfaces with a bit more care during this time.
We take a 20% deposit to book the transformation and for us to begin formulating your custom coating. We ask for the final payment at the end of the day, only after we’ve transformed your kitchen and confirm that you’re happy with the results!
Absolutely, we can even fill and drill new holes if that’s what you need. We simply ask that you order the handles and have them ready for the day of the transformation.
We are paint specialists, so although we can guide you in the selection of new handles and install them, we ask that you provide them.
It’s ideal that we are scheduled after the backsplash and countertops have been removed and before the new ones are installed, only because this will save you some money due to a lot less masking. It will also ensure a nicer finish, as any new silicone or grout will be applied on top of your new paint job. This is just the ideal situation, but if this isn’t possible we can definitely work around your renovation to accommodate you.
Only if we are painting the interior shelving. If not, we can work our way around your cutlery as we’ll mask them in.
Yes. While majority of projects are completed in a just a day, there are of course exceptions, but it shouldn’t take us longer than 2 days (which is still a lot quicker than services that require leaving with your kitchen cabinets).
No. Just like when you get solid-coloured doors from the factory, our coating is hard enough to withstand regular staining, chipping and scratching (within reason). Unlike conventional paints, our proprietary coatings exceed all KCMA (Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer’s Association) finish standards.
We’re more than just painters. We’re specialists in paint formulation and the process of applying it. We’ve taken the same scientific approach that has made us successful on the exterior of homes, to the interior of homes! A durable factory finish that looks like-new always begins with the right formulation of paint, process and equipment. Spray-Net is smarter chemistry, optimized painting.
